I have recently returned.
begin by saying that Venessia comes second in the ranking of cities that I liked more. Istanbul, there is always the first place and the third is still Prague (The reader will bear in mind that when you have never left Europe).
Things that you go to Venice are so many, I'll try to summarize (in no particular order):
1) There are no cars and motorbikes, but only small boats, motor boats and gondolas. Someone pointed out to us as it may be a problem, really, for people who live there Venessia .
2) E 'a city full of mysteries. If you go to buy Fable of Venice, register of Corto Maltese.
3) There are shops that sell used books. To have time to dig you will find things interesting. I only had hand luggage and I could not bring everything I wanted. But I bought the first Italian edition of White Noise by de Lillo, and yes, I'm very satisfied.
4) The aperitif with meatballs and wine to "the widow" in Strada Nuova.
5) The menu of inns: the octopus with potatoes becomes octopus salad and potatoes.
6) Decks, dozens of beautiful bridges
7) The boys who live there that tell you about the high water of 2008.
8) The houses overlooking the canals.
